Myra Molloy will become the first Thai actress to lead a Broadway musical when she steps into the role of Eurydice in Hadestown, the Tony Award-winning production inspired by Greek mythology. Molloy will officially take over the role on May 6 at New York’s Walter Kerr Theatre, following Hailey Kilgore’s final performance on May 4.

“I remember as a kid visiting NYC from Bangkok and seeing my first show on Broadway and the feeling it left me with,” Molloy tells JoySauce. “It was something I couldn’t put into words then, but now as an adult it is nothing short of a dream come true. I never thought I’d get to have this honor and I am so grateful that I get to continue the legacy of playing Eurydice on Broadway.”

Born Myra Maneepat Molloy, the actress and singer first gained national recognition in Thailand after winning the inaugural season of Thailand’s Got Talent in 2011 at the age of 13. She later reached the top six on ABC’s Rising Star in 2014 and performed as an alternate for the role of Kim during the American tour of Miss Saigon from 2018-19. In addition to her stage career, she voiced the character of Moana in the Thai-language version of Disney’s Moana.

In 2024, Molloy collaborated on two singles, “Let It Out” with Kim Tee and “I Am Enough” with Dana Williams. The year prior, she released her debut EP, unrequited, showcasing her skills as a songwriter and vocalist.
