Nevada’s Clark County has officially designated a portion of Las Vegas as Filipino Town, making it the second recognized cultural district in the county, following the 2023 creation of Little Ethiopia. The unanimous decision by the Clark County Commission was met with celebration from community members, many of whom attended the meeting waving Filipino flags, dressed in traditional attire.

The new district spans a 1.2-mile stretch of Maryland Parkway between Desert Inn and Flamingo roads, an area known for its concentration of Filipino-owned businesses, including the popular Seafood City, and establishments within the Boulevard Mall.

Community leader Rozita V. Lee, who led the initiative, calls the designation a joyful moment, emphasizing continued collaboration to ensure the district thrives. The resolution highlights the district’s role in honoring the culture, commerce, and contributions of Filipino residents in the region.

With an estimated 200,000 Filipinos living in Nevada, according to the Las Vegas Asian Chamber of Commerce, the designation marks a significant milestone in the visibility and recognition of the state’s growing Filipino population.
