Sony Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for Karate Kid: Legends, the latest installment in the beloved martial arts franchise. The film brings together two icons—Jackie Chan’s Mr. Han from the 2010 reboot and Ralph Macchio’s Daniel LaRusso from the original Karate Kid films—while introducing a new protégé, played by American Born Chinese star Ben Wang.
Set three years after the events of Netflix’s Cobra Kai, the film follows Wang’s character, Li Fong, a skilled kung fu student who relocates from Beijing to New York City with his mother (Ming-Na Wen) after a family tragedy. Struggling to fit in at his new school, Li wants to leave fighting behind, but trouble follows him. When a friend needs his help, he enters a karate competition, only to realize his kung fu skills alone won’t be enough. Mr. Han takes him under his wing but also seeks guidance from Daniel, blending their respective martial arts styles to prepare Li for the ultimate showdown.
