JoySauce Radio: Consider JoySauce Radio our own personal song recommendations—from the tunes and videos our writers love to DJ-produced mixes of dance floor bangers—all from Asian and Pacific Islander artists around the world.

March is Women’s History Month, and JoySauce Radio is here to celebrate. Women from the Asian diaspora have been making waves in the music world; they’re bringing fresh perspectives, bending genres, and bringing deeply personal storytelling to the forefront. From high-energy anthems to introspective ballads, these artists are redefining what it means to be a force in music making. Here are five tracks from women in the Asian diaspora that we’ve been loving in March:

“Haute Couture” by Rhea Raj ft. Aliyah’s Interlude

This song exudes confidence. Rhea Raj is back with another banger and this time, she gives us a high-energy, sultry tune that sounds like it belongs on a Paris Fashion Week runway. The beat is strong and the video is a luxurious, visual feat. If you need a boost of main character energy, put this on your playlist.

“Seoul City” by JENNIE

JENNIE’s new album is full of bops, but “Seoul City” is a personal standout. She really nails the late-night, lost-in-thought sound with this one. The song is smooth, a little moody, and feels like driving through the city alone, staring out the window, and reminiscing. It’s sleek and hypnotic—definitely put this on your playlist if you’re feeling introspective but still want a little groove.

“I’ll be happy when” by Lyn Lapid

This song is the ultimate sad bop. Lyn Lapid has a way of capturing a feeling so well through her songwriting. Her voice has a soft and wistful delivery, and the lyrics really hit if you’ve ever caught yourself thinking, “Hmm, I’ll finally be happy when…” but never quite get there. It’s a gut punch, but in the best way.

“Orlando in Love” by Japanese Breakfast

This tune is dreamy. It feels like a hazy memory of falling in love—the video is cinematic, the song is a little bittersweet, and it’s all mesmerizing. Japanese Breakfast always has a way of making music that feels like it belongs in a movie, and this song is no exception. All the tunes from her most recent album, For Melancholy Brunettes (and Sad Women) feel like they belong in a dreamscape.

“Only Ever” by Lucy Park

This groovy, soft jazz tune is effortlessly cool. Singer-songwriter Lucy Park captures the emotion of melancholy perfectly with this one. Her vocals are soft and sultry, while the pairing backtrack is lush and full of upbeat instrumentals. The video that accompanies the track is comforting and follows the rising star around, day-in-the-life style.
