Superstar soloists Jisoo and Zayn Malik have officially joined forces for an iconic crossover.

Their new single, “Eyes Closed,” out now via Warner Records, pairs Jisoo’s crystalline vocals with Malik’s signature raspy tone over a wistful acoustic melody. Jisoo is notably credited as a songwriter on the track.

Though the first promotional posters for the collaboration drew teasing comparisons to Wattpad fan covers and accusations of being photoshopped, the pairing is very real. The two artists filmed the “Eyes Closed” music video together at the retro-chic TWA Hotel at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport. The visual sees Jisoo and Malik performing against surreal, cosmic backdrops.

The collaboration traces back to July, when Malik attended BLACKPINK’s New York concert with his 4-year-old daughter, Khai, later sharing that they “loved it.” That admiration ultimately sparked this unexpected partnership between one of K-pop’s biggest stars and the former One Direction member.

“Eyes Closed” is Jisoo’s first official English-language single, following her English side track “Your Love,” off of her AMORTAGE album. The music video for “Your Love” was also filmed at a stunning location, the Rainforest Wildlife Asia, part of the Mandai Wildlife Reserve in Singapore. It was a special collaboration with the country’s tourism board.

Jisoo and Malik’s duet arrives amid her ongoing Deadline World Tour with BLACKPINK, which resumes its Asian leg in Taiwan on Saturday. The group recently returned to the charts with “Jump,” their first song together in nearly three years.

While Malik gears up for his 2026 Las Vegas residency and a road trip series on Netflix with One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson, Jisoo will star in the upcoming Netflix K-drama series Boyfriend on Demand.
