The wait for a full BTS comeback is almost over.

The K-pop supergroup will release a new studio album on March 20, and is set to unveil plans for a global tour, marking its return to group activities after several years of solo endeavors.

According to the group’s label, BigHit Music, the release will be a full-length studio album and will feature 14 tracks. It is the group’s first studio album since 2020’s Map of the Soul: 7, and their first new group project since the anthology album Proof, which was released in June 2022.

In a statement on Weverse, BigHit said the album reflects the members’ “emotions and struggles they have experienced along their journey.”

The agency noted that BTS devoted much of the second half of 2025 to working on the album, prioritizing its production as the members reunited in the studio and were deeply involved on the records. Each track is described as carrying the members’ emotions and reflections, as well as their gratitude toward their global fanbase, known as ARMY.

BTS has confirmed that they began recording the album together in July 2025. In previous statements, the group said they approached the project with the same mindset they had at the start of their career, emphasizing sincerity and collaboration.

Alongside the album release, BTS is also preparing to return to the road. Details of a world tour are expected to be announced on Jan. 14. The tour would be the group’s first since their Permission to Dance on Stage concerts, which concluded with shows in Las Vegas in April 2022.

As part of the comeback rollout, BigHit has launched a new official website, 2026bts.com, where they will share updates related to the album and tour.

The announcement follows a multi-year period during which BTS stepped back from group activities. At the end of 2021, BigHit said the group would take an extended break, during which the members completed South Korea’s mandatory military service and focused on solo projects. During that time, several members released individual albums, including projects from RM, J-Hope, and Jimin, while others appeared in documentaries, concert films, and television series.
