As the devastating fires continue to impact Los Angeles and surrounding areas, many people are left feeling helpless in the face of such a massive tragedy. Communities are rallying to provide aid, but the scale of the disaster means there is still an urgent need for support. Here are some actionable ways you can help, whether through donations, volunteering, or sharing resources.
Donate to trusted organizations
Financial donations are one of the most effective ways to provide immediate relief. Here are some organizations currently aiding those affected by the LA fires:
- GoFundMe.org: The nonprofit organization is sending emergency relief grants of $1,000 each to individuals who have lost homes and loved ones due to the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst fires. Donate and learn more here.
- California Community Foundation: Supports both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts for wildfire-affected communities. More information and donation options are available here.
- Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation: Hundreds of Los Angeles firefighters are on the ground around the clock responding to the wildfires. Support the courageous firefighters who save lives, protect our homes and keep our communities safe.
- Red Cross Los Angeles: Offers shelter, food, and emergency supplies to those displaced by the fires. Nearly 450 responders are working day and night to make sure victims are not alone. Donate directly on their website.

Support AA+PI families displaced by the fires
Families of all backgrounds, including several AA+PI families, have been deeply affected by the fires, with many losing homes and belongings. Here are a few verified GoFundMe campaigns to support AA+PI families:
- Inouye family: The Inouye family lost their home of 50 years and cherished memories in the Eaton fire. Your support can help them rebuild and recover from this devastating loss.
- Bautista family: Irene Bautista immigrated to Los Angeles from the Philippines to create a better life for her children. The Bautista family is seeking assistance to rebuild her home that was destroyed in the Palisades fire.
- Guerrero family: Facing the loss of their home on Altadena Drive, the Guerrero family is relying on community support to start anew after the wildfires.
- Gary Higashiyama: The 72-year-old uncle lost his home of almost 40 years to the LA wildfires. Donations will go toward rebuilding efforts and basic necessities during this challenging time.

Volunteer your time

- Local shelters: Reach out to temporary evacuation centers to ask about volunteer opportunities. Many need help with organizing donations and providing emotional support to evacuees.
- Animal rescue organizations: Groups like Pasadena Humane Society, LA Animal Services, and Best Friends Animal Society are looking for volunteers to assist with rescued pets.
