‘Elemental’ creator Peter Sohn set to direct ‘Incredibles 3’
The longtime Pixar veteran was personally chosen to lead the franchise forward, having worked on "The Incredibles" and its sequel

Pixar has tapped longtime animator and filmmaker Peter Sohn to direct Incredibles 3.
Sohn, best known for directing The Good Dinosaur and Elemental, previously contributed to both The Incredibles (2004) and Incredibles 2 (2018), and has collaborated with original series director Brad Bird on numerous projects. Sohn has also voiced various Pixar characters for films such as Ratatouille and Lightyear
Bird, who helmed and wrote the first two films, will return as a screenwriter and producer for the third installment, alongside Soul producer Dana Murray. Bird personally selected Sohn to carry the franchise forward, with Pixar CCO Pete Docter’s support.
While other details for Incredibles 3 are under wraps, returning voice cast is expected to include Craig T. Nelson, Holly Hunter, Samuel L. Jackson, and Sarah Vowell.
Sohn’s appointment comes as Pixar prepares to release its next feature, Elio, on June 20. Directed by Madeline Sharafian and Domee Shi, the film features voices from Yonas Kibreab, Zoe Saldaña, and Jameela Jamil.
