BTS’ J-Hope is drawing inspiration from Leonardo Da Vinci with his newly released single “Mona Lisa.” This marks his second release of a planned three this year, following his collaboration with Miguel on “Sweet Dreams.”
The BTS rapper describes the track to The Korea Times as a “performance-driven” song and one he co-produced himself. Initially uncertain about whether he could pull it off, J-Hope shares, “When I first heard the track, I loved it, but I wasn’t sure I could pull it off. However, after modifying it in Los Angeles to better suit me, it ended up fitting surprisingly well. I was able to visualize the entire concept naturally, and I’m satisfied with how it turned out.”
He further emphasizes the playful nature of the song, saying, “The lyrics are witty and playful, so it’s easy and fun to listen to. The song features quirky sound effects and cheeky elements throughout. Spotting them will make the listening experience even more enjoyable.”
The release comes during J-Hope’s Hope On the Stage world tour, with upcoming U.S. dates in San Antonio, Oakland, and Los Angeles, before heading to Asia from April to June.
