Astrology with Alice: Welcome to Astrology with Alice, a monthly astrology column aimed at helping readers understand the vibes of the month ahead in plain English. As a Taiwanese immigrant who grew up in Los Angeles, I specialize in combining western astrology with eastern philosophy. I’ve taught modern astrology through the lens of Buddhism and Taoism, and I also draw from the principles of traditional Chinese medicine. Knowing the movements of the planets can help us make decisions around our careers, relationships, family. As the planets move around in the sky, they shift the energetic vibes we experience on Earth, and I believe in flowing with energy instead of fighting it—to work smarter, not harder. So join me on our monthly planetary lowdowns and learn how you, too, can ride the cosmic waves!
Uranus went into Gemini over the summer, and I wrote about how it would be a shock to the collective system. Uranus is a wildcard planet that brings disruptions, and Gemini is the sign of information and communication. Put the two together and they’re like two celestial misfits who understand each others’ chaos language—hence, the shock to the system. However, after its brief time in Gemini, Uranus retrograded out of Gemini and back into the previous sign, Taurus, where it had already been since 2018. And on April 26, it finally goes back into Gemini, where it will stay until it begins progressing into the sign Cancer in 2032.
So here’s the thing with these outer planets. They love previews. Last year’s brief stay in Gemini was the preview—an amuse bouche to get the appetite started before the meal begins. We’re actually beginning the real work now.
What does that mean? And how is this second ingress into Gemini different from the first one? Long story short, this time it’s less about shock and more about discernment.
Let me explain.
What happened while Uranus was away
The story didn’t stand still when Uranus retrograded back into Taurus in November last year. During that time, a lot of things happened. The huge Saturn-Neptune conjunction gave us a reality check, exposing the fault line between vision and fantasy. The eclipses occurred, which always brings a temperature change. A Mercury retrograde also happened. Jupiter was also retrograding. That’s a lot of “stop and reassess” energy. In a year of Fire Horse energy that just wants to gallop forward, this was a season of frustrating pause.
What all these events and retrogrades asked us to do was consider the question, does your dream have spine?
We are no longer just being asked how to survive the noise—we are being asked how to discern within it.
Now, Mercury and Jupiter are both running full steam ahead again and Uranus is charging back into Gemini. Forward-moving progress feels possible again. (Yay!) The difference this time is that we’re being invited to bring our insights into the next chapter. Last summer, Uranian energy was all about speed. Everything felt louder, faster, twitchier, more unstable. And while that’s still true, the question has deepened, because we are no longer just being asked how to survive the noise—we are being asked how to discern within it.
We’re entering a part of the year when the sky is moving forward again, and it’s giving momentum to something we’ve been circling, revising, and maybe even second guessing. We might not be at the point of perfect clarity yet, but whatever’s been brewing is ready to start responding.
This time, it's about discernment
Uranus often gets reduced to just being “innovative” or “curious,” but what it actually does is disrupt and bring volatility to the realm of thinking itself. It’s both as brilliant as it is destabilizing. It can both liberate us from old narratives as well as flood the field with static. It sharpens as well as scatters the mind. And that’s why discernment is the next step. We got invigorated by Uranus enlivening the mind with ideas and innovations (especially in the space of tech and AI), and now we need to be able to discriminate. We need to figure out how to differentiate between revelation and noise when they both bring the same adrenaline spike.
If the first ingress last summer was a warning shot of new ideas and new possibilities, then this return feels like the moment we have to decide what we are actually doing with the signal. The difference is that this time, we’re wiser about the price of instability. We know what happens when dreams collapse, and we know the confusion that comes with information overload. We know that not all ideas are worthy ones. We had a reality check. We revisited the body, the budget, the dream, the difference between fantasy and form. Most importantly, we slowed down long enough to ask better questions.
So now the foot is back on the gas pedal, but we’re wiser this time around. And, hopefully, we’re less likely to lose the plot now as we learn to listen for truth amid all the noise that’s vying for our attention.
Your Uranus in Gemini update
Last time, I wrote predictions for where Uranus was most likely to disrupt your life. This time, look up your sign in the list below and see how you’re ready to implement that information and turn it into real changes. (You can also read for your rising sign. If you don’t know your rising sign, you can use this free online rising sign calculator.)
Aries
Your voice is changing, but this time the question is not whether you have something to say. It’s whether you know which thoughts are worth following. The past several months may have shown you just how noisy your mental landscape has become. As Uranus returns to Gemini, the invitation is not just to speak more. It’s to sharpen your signal.
Taurus
You already know your relationship to money and value is changing. But after Uranus’ dip back into Taurus, this return may hit differently. You’ve had a chance to feel what instability costs—in your body, your budget, and your peace of mind. Now the next chapter begins. And it’s not just about making money differently, but getting brutally honest about what’s actually worth your energy.
Gemini
Yes, you’re still being rewired. But the first preview may have already shown you that reinvention isn’t just exciting, it’s destabilizing. If your sense of self has felt slippery, scattered, or electric…well, that’s just part of the process. As Uranus returns, the task is not to cling to an old identity. It’s to become more intentional about who you are becoming.
Cancer
The biggest messages may not be arriving through more information, but through what happens when you step away from it. If the past months have felt psychically loud, Uranus returning to Gemini asks you to get pickier about what you let into your inner world. Solitude is not avoidance right now. Solitude is how you clean the channel.
Leo
Your social world is still in flux, but by now you may already know which connections feel electric and which just feel chaotic. As Uranus returns, your community story becomes less about random shake-ups and more about alignment. Who actually shares your vision? Who just adds noise? Also, Uranus is entering a part of your chart that rules long term goals, so bring fresh energy to your plans and dreams.
Virgo
Career disruption is still the headline, but the tone has shifted. This is no longer just about blowing up the old path, because it’s about figuring out what kind of public life can actually hold your truth. If the past year exposed where ambition was unsustainable, this return asks you to build differently, not just rebel harder.
Libra
Your worldview is still being cracked open, but now the question is discernment. What still feels meaningful, and what only sounded good when you needed an answer? Uranus returning to Gemini may bring new teachers, ideas, or horizons. However, your task is to stay curious without handing your mind over too quickly.
Scorpio
The shake up around intimacy, trust, and shared resources is not over, but you may have more information now. This return asks you to get clearer about where your energy is tied up, where your money is entangled, and where a bond is liberating versus destabilizing. Not every intense connection is a wise one, dear Scorpio.
Sagittarius
Relationships are still the frontier, but now the lesson is less about novelty and more about freedom with integrity. If the first wave brought surprising shifts or unusual dynamics, this next phase asks what kind of connection can actually breathe without falling apart. (Or make you feel small.)
Capricorn
You’ve probably already gotten hints that your old systems aren’t cutting it. As Uranus returns, the goal is not to become a productivity genius. It’s to stop pretending your body can thrive inside routines that no longer fit. Reinvention here needs to be practical, not performative.
Aquarius
The spark is still there, but this time the question is what deserves your creative electricity. Not every crush, idea, or burst of inspiration needs to become your next life plan. Uranus in Gemini wants experimentation, and discernment will help you tell the difference between a passing jolt and a real creative awakening.
Pisces
Home is still the restless zone, but by now you may have a better sense of what instability does to your nervous system. As Uranus returns, questions around living situation, family patterns, and belonging may reawaken. However, this time, you may feel more of a sense of urgency around what actually feels safe, true, and sustainable.
